While not featured in Game of Thrones, this imposing Norman castle would have fitted perfectly as a stronghold in the North of Westeros.
Nestled along the scenic Antrim coastal road is the charming fishing village of Carnlough, where we pause for a brief comfort break. Departing from central Belfast, you will head north along the scenic Antrim coast to see the UNESCO-listed Giant’s Causeway. Although not featured in Game of Thrones, this spectacular site is a must-see, with approximately 1 ½ hours to explore. Often hailed as the 8th wonder of the world, it’s easy to see why once you arrive. This incredible site features around 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns, formed by a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago. While it’s one of the world’s most stunning natural wonders, many Irish believe it was crafted by the legendary Celtic warrior Finn McCool. We’ll share the tale, and you can decide for yourself!
The journey back to Belfast includes a final stop at Dunluce Castle, the 17th-century ruins used as the exterior of the House of Greyjoy on the show. Pose for pictures, then return to Belfast, where you will be dropped back at the city center.
