**COMING SOON**
A very popular tour for Jane Austen fans is our Peaks and Pemberley Pride & Prejudice One Day Tour. Based on the 1995 BBC Production this magical one-day tour takes in the beautiful views as seen by Elizabeth Bennet, and of course, Mr Darcy’s stunning Pemberley abode!
Your guide will meet and greet you at Buxton Railway station,. The first stop of the tour is the village of Lambton to see the Bull Inn (exterior) where Elizabeth stayed with her aunt and uncle. This is where Elizabeth heard the news of Lydia’s elopement, and where Darcy came upon her just afterwards.
Then head off to see Lizzie’s Peak District, and visit the actual scene as shot in the TV series. The climb, is an easy one, but comfortable shoes and clothing are strongly recommended. You’ll get to enjoy the same scenery that Elizabeth described as ‘beautiful’ and of course take as many selfies and pictures to make your ‘Lizzy Moment’ very special.
Your next stop on the tour will be to the National Trust estate of Lyme Park which stood in for Pemberley where lunch can be enjoyed. A highlight will to see the site of Darcy’s pond, which was also used for the scene where Wickham and Darcy played as boys. The sandy shelf that Darcy dives into the pond from is still there and you can relive this moment for yourself. You’ll also see the famous lake outside the house itself, the centre courtyard and approaches, plus the long garden walkway.
You’ll have a chance to enjoy some light refreshments before your guide takes you to Stockport station where you can take your homeward journey.
