Beatrix Potter Tour of the Lake District
Quite simply a magical day which my husband and I will remember for many years to come
Maureen Sullivan, Iowa
Treat yourself to a breath-taking tour of Beatrix Potter sites and beautiful Lake District scenery.
You will start the afternoon on Lake Windermere, cruising on England’s largest lake. At 1 mile wide at some points, the views from the lake to towards to mountains are spectacular.
The next part of your journey takes you to Hill Top Farm where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her famous children’s stories in this 17th century cottage. You will have the opportunity to go into the house (open Fridays), explore the garden and visit the shop.
You will then continue onto the medieval village of Hawkshead with a little time to explore its many delightful features. There is plenty of photo opportunities as William Wordsworth old Grammar School is located here. During the trip you’ll have plenty of chances to get off the bus and walk around the locations we visit.
Onwards then, to the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows, giving fantastic views towards the Langdale Pikes.
Please note that as there will be walking involved in the tour it may not be suitable for those with mobility problems. Upon finishing the tour you will be returned back into Windermere.
