Detectorists Tour of Danebury

Your Detectorists Tour begins at the iconic Framlingham Castle, where you embark on a journey to the heart of the fictional village of Danebury. Led by a local guide and fan of the show this 2 walking hour tour will visit more than 10 filming locations from the show.

Much of the show was filmed in the Suffolk village of Framlingham and surrounding areas and it is here in this pretty village that your guide will take you behind the scenes and explore the world of Andy and Lance. We pause outside the exterior of the Two Brewers, a familiar focal point of friendship and community, before heading to the site of the Scout Hall, where the Danebury Metal Detecting Club once gathered to debate finds, dreams and disappointments.

Along the way, we visit the spot of Mr Chan’s Chinese Restaurant, where Lance receives his invitation to Toni’s barge — mandolin in hand — and the location tied to that memorable narrowboat moment. You’ll stand outside Lance’s flat, a modest but emotionally charged setting, before crossing to the Lemon Tree Bistro, where Lance meets his daughter Kate for coffee. From the nearby churchyard, you’ll see the precise vantage point where Andy quietly watches from across the road, capturing one of the show’s most tender, awkward moments.

The walk continues past the Crystal Enigma spiritualist supplies shop run by Maggie, the electrical shop where Andy buys his Power Ranger metal detector, and the local supermarket where Lance carefully prepares for his second meeting with Kate, selecting flowers, chocolates and aftershave with nervous determination. We also visit the location of the Open Mic night at the White Horse Inn, where Lance and Andy perform together, plus the homes of Veronica, and Terry and Sheila.
