Experience the beauty of Cornwall on this guided Beyond Paradise Tour through the filming locations of the hit BBC series.
This 1½-hour walking tour takes you through the charming coastal town of Looe, which doubles as the fictional Devon seaside town of Shipton Abbott in the television series. As a spin-off from the Caribbean-based Death in Paradise, the show follows DI Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall, as he begins a new chapter of his life with Martha Lloyd in the South West of England.
During the tour you will explore the picturesque harbour, winding streets and beachfront areas used throughout the series while discovering how this Cornish fishing town became the backdrop for the fictional Shipton Abbott. Along the way you’ll follow in the footsteps of Humphrey, Martha, DS Esther Williams, PC Kelby Hartford and Margo Martins while visiting locations featured in many memorable scenes from the show.
The walk passes several recognisable filming spots including the building used as Shipton Abbott Police Station, the riverside where chase scenes were filmed, the local bar featured in the series and the working fish market that appears in the opening episode.
As you stroll along the East Looe River and the historic seafront, you’ll experience the scenery that made Looe such a perfect setting for the series, with fishing boats, sandy beaches and dramatic coastal views all forming part of the show’s distinctive atmosphere.
Throughout the tour your guide will share behind-the-scenes stories about the filming of Beyond Paradise along with fascinating insights into the history and character of this unique Cornish town.
