Discover the landscapes, villages and stories behind one of Britain’s most beloved television series on this full-day All Creatures Great and Small Tour through the spectacular Yorkshire Dales.
Perfect for fans of the James Herriot books, the classic 1970s BBC series, and the recent Channel 5 adaptation, this small-group tour travels through Herriot Country visiting filming locations from both versions of the show.
Travelling in a comfortable mini-coach with a maximum of 16 guests, you’ll journey through the beautiful countryside that inspired Alf Wight’s famous stories while your guide shares behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the series and the real-life experiences of the Yorkshire vet who wrote under the name James Herriot.
During the day you’ll visit more than 15 filming locations across the Yorkshire Dales, including the award-winning World of James Herriot, classic locations used in the original television series, and the picturesque village used as Darrowby in the modern Channel 5 adaptation.
Along the way you’ll experience the charming market towns, rolling countryside and historic villages that have made this part of Yorkshire such an important setting for the stories of James Herriot for more than fifty years.
The tour finishes back in central York, leaving you with a deeper appreciation for the landscapes and locations that brought Herriot’s world to life on screen.
