Like Ann Cleeves, author of the Vera novels, I’m not originally from the North East, but after living here for the past 18 years I happily call myself a Geordie by choice. I have been a guide on these tours since the very beginning, and it’s been wonderful to see the drama’s popularity grow year on year throughout its 14 years of production. Vera attracts visitors of all ages from across the UK and around the world to this beautiful corner of England. I love sharing hidden details and behind-the-scenes stories about the books, the series, the author, and actors, while also introducing guests to the real-life locations they’ve seen on screen.

I became a tour guide by chance about ten years ago after missing the Ferry Across the Mersey and striking up a conversation with the driver of a yellow open top tour bus. He gave me a trial, and I quickly realised guiding was something I loved. Today I’m one of only around 70 fully qualified Professional Blue Badge Guides in the Liverpool City Region, which has a population of around 1.6 million people. Known as “Gary Friday on a Saturday,” I guide a wide range of tours including Beatles, Peaky Blinders, film locations, Liverpool pub tours and true crime tours, sharing my passion for the city’s stories, music, history and culture.

I have been a tour guide for about a decade, leading people around London, other parts of the UK and across Europe. I guide walking, taxi and coach tours, and I’m passionate about London, history, film and music. I always enjoy discovering new places and sharing them with visitors. I also work as an actor and am grateful for the many wonderful experiences that career has brought me.

I was once an archaeologist, but now work as an actor, and occasionally as a Tudor cook and Crystal Maze master. I’ve appeared in Call the Midwife, shaken hands with Martin Scorsese, been yelled at by Prince Philip and Joan Collins, and even helped excavate Shakespeare’s Curtain Theatre. My favourite part of London is the British Museum or anywhere along the river, particularly the South Bank or Temple. One of my best tour moments was being shushed from the windows of a law office during a particularly exuberant Dalek impression, closely followed by running into the real Mrs Hudson (Una Stubbs) during a Sherlock Holmes tour.

I’m a Scot living in the big smoke, and my love of film and television comes from my Mum and Dad, who heavily influenced the shows and movies I enjoy today. I’m a big fan of TV and film and can happily talk all day about Doctor Who, Good Omens and Harry Potter. I also work in the entertainment industry as an actor, singer, writer and musician, and began tour guiding in 2021. I look forward to hopefully meeting you on a tour soon!

I have lived in the Cotswolds for over forty years and have been based in Blockley since 2019. I have also worked as the Church Conservator for the Father Brown productions, which has given me access to the cast and crew during filming in and around St Mary’s, as well as a fascinating insight into how an episode is brought to life. After a career in medical equipment sales, I now enjoy a busy retirement with interests in aviation, history and motorcycle touring, along with plenty of dog walks along the many beautiful local footpaths in the area.

I’m a proud North East guide from County Durham and know these landscapes almost as well as Vera knows a crime scene. With over five years of experience leading tours, I love bringing the world of Vera to life for fans exploring the region. As a big admirer of Anne Cleeves, I guide visitors to iconic filming locations across Holy Island, Northumberland and the wild North East coastline. Along the way I share the region’s rich industrial heritage, local legends and behind the scenes filming stories. Friendly, knowledgeable and full of Northern spirit, I aim to make every tour feel like stepping into a real Vera investigation.

I am a qualified City of Westminster Guide and lead some of my own tours as well as the Mary Poppins, Bridget Jones, Harry Potter and Notting Hill tours for Brit Movie Tours. Originally from the US, I previously lived in Germany, Hong Kong and Singapore before coming to London about a decade ago. I also have a background in museum guiding, having worked as a Dozent at the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore.

I have been a tour guide with Brit Movie Tours since 2024. I am an upcoming British queer actor from the Midlands in my twenties, and have been cast in a range of projects across stage and screen, including The White Crow (2018), directed by Ralph Fiennes, as well as plays at the Park Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe. I have also appeared in several feature films in the United States. My passions include collecting vinyl, doing impressions of terrible X Factor auditions and haunting bookshops.

I was born and raised in London and now enjoy sharing the magic of this extraordinary city with visitors from around the world. Whether you’ve seen me on the Travel Channel or are discovering my tours for the first time, I’d be delighted to guide you through London’s famous landmarks, fascinating history and hidden gems. As a former Black Cab driver who mastered the world-famous Knowledge of London, I know the city’s streets, stories and secrets inside out. I’ve even driven famous faces including my hero David Bowie. When I’m not guiding, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and supporting my beloved Millwall F.C.

I lead the Sherlock Holmes tours through central London, sharing fascinating stories about the world’s most famous detective. My love of Sherlock Holmes began in childhood when my mother read me all 56 short stories and four novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Growing up in London, Baker Street was just a bus ride away. After leaving school I trained as an actor and appeared alongside Robert Downey Jr., Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson. I later enjoyed success as a singer and guitarist during the 1960s and 70s before travelling the world as a cruise director. Today I bring together my passion for storytelling, theatre and London history to bring the Sherlock Holmes stories to life.

I play a key role behind the scenes at Brit Movie Tours, managing accounts and finance while supporting the business across social media and marketing to help keep operations running smoothly. Originally from Mauritius I enjoy discovering new destinations, cooking, and sourcing antiques and unique pieces for my home. I am also fluent in French and Creole. While much of my role is behind the scenes, I enjoy going out to film and photograph tours, meeting customers, and capturing their reactions along the way. My favourite tour is the Clarkson’s Farm tour, and I have a real soft spot for the Cotswolds… and an even bigger one for Jeremy Clarkson (just don’t tell the others).

I joined Brit Movie Tours in 2018 as a guide and later became National Guide Manager in summer 2023. I was born and raised in London and trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College. I’m passionate about many things including Doctor Who, the Titanic, steam engines, cosplay, musical theatre and Labrador dogs. I also enjoy attending film and TV conventions and have been lucky enough to meet some incredible actors including David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Ncuti Gatwa, Sir Ian McKellen, Bernard Cribbins, Andrew Scott and Richard E. Grant. I love working as a guide and Guide Manager and look forward to welcoming you on one of my tours, whether it’s Bridgerton, Doctor Who, Paddington or Sherlock Holmes.
